End Grain Cutting Board

The End Grain Cutting Board
I made a new bench for my locker room this year, and that project left me with lots of scrap wood. So I decided that I wanted to made an end grain cutting board and create a pattern with that. I made the board 1.5 inches thick so that it would have some good size to it. Going in I did not know how big it would end up being, but time was the factor that decided that for me. I was also hoping that I would give this item to my coach as a housewarming gift (he just bought his first house!). I was unable to complete this project with in the four hours but as soon as I am home or summer I will be finishing it up.
I ripped the board at 1.5 inches and then the small blocks were each 2 inches and the long strips were 15 inches long. Then I glued and clamped the wood together and took a grinder to level out and then went back and filled the holes with wood glue and then sanded the board down.
